Eco boosts annual sales by 40 per cent to £4.8 million Eco boosts annual sales by 40 per cent to £4.8 million  (posted 16/04/2008)

Eco Sustainable Solutions (Eco) has confirmed its status as one of the UK’s fastest-growing organic recycling firms after reporting a 40 per cent rise in annual sales.

The Dorset company saw its turnover increase to £4.8 million for the 12 months to December 31, 2007, from £3.4m previously.

Eco does not publish its pre-tax profits but says they continue to be in “healthy six figures” and are up on the previous year.

Founded in 1994, Eco has created a further four jobs in the last 12 months and now employs 29 staff.

It operates one of the UK’s leading organics recycling facilities with 140,000 tonnes of material processed annually on its 14-acre site at Parley on the outskirts of Bournemouth International Airport.

Total sales from end products amounted to 46 per cent of turnover – or £2.2 million – in Eco’s last financial year, an increase of £700,000 on the previous 12 months.

Trelawney Dampney, Managing Director, said: “Eco has always focused on producing high quality end products from the waste we treat.

“In our industry the future will belong to those companies that extract the maximum value from that material and Eco intends to be at the forefront of this.”
