2CR-FM listener receives garden makeover courtesy of Eco (posted 07/07/2008)Move over Ground Force! A Dorset garden is sporting a smart new look after receiving a £1,000 make-over.
Mother-of-three Angela Heathman said she is “absolutely delighted” with the makeover after winning a competition staged by 2CR-FM and organics recycling firm, Eco Sustainable Solutions in Parley.
The contest, called ‘Mulch Ado About Nothing’, was broadcast on the radio station’s Rob Smith Drivetime show.
Listeners had to guess the name of a mystery celebrity in the garden with the person’s voice disguised by mulching and gardening sound effects.
All the winning entries were put in a draw with Mrs Heathman, of Surrey Road South, Bournemouth, picked as the eventual winner.
Staff from Wimborne-based Creative Landscaping drew up designs before spending the day transforming Mrs Heathman’s garden into a plant-lover’s paradise with more than 30 different species.
They also laid new turf, grown at Eco’s Parley site, and used mulches supplied by Eco.
“I am absolutely delighted. They have transformed a fairly bare piece of land into a really lovely garden,” said Mrs Heathman.
Justin Dampney, Eco’s Business and Marketing Manager, described the competition as a “big success.”
He added: “This was a great opportunity to not only create a brand new garden for Mrs Heathman but also demonstrate just some of the wide range of organic products from Eco.”
