Role: Loading Shovel Operator
Reporting to: Site Manager
Working Hours: 07:00 – 17:00 Monday to Friday (Some Saturdays Required)
Contract type: Full-time, Permanent
Purpose:
Operating and maintaining heavy plant machinery and equipment in a professional manner, in accordance with all Health and Safety requirements and ensuring production plans are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operating and maintaining plant and heavy machinery in a safe and responsible manner, being mindful of all other site users and visitors, at all times.
- Ensuring production plans and daily targets are met and working with other operators and site staff to achieve them.
- Effectively report performance of plant machinery and equipment to Site Supervisor.
- Identify areas of improvement to maintenance and effectively communicate with relevant Supervisors and Senior Operators to establish effective and efficient preventative maintenance of all plant.
- Ensure product quality requirements are met.
- Ensure all company procedures are always followed, with special focus on Health & Safety.
- Resolving day to day issues whenever possible.
- Communicating in a professional manner with external bodies, customers, contractors and delivery drivers.
- Keeping in constant communication with Supervisors and other Operators.
- Offer flexibility.
- Learning and supporting implementation of new plant, machinery, processes and technologies.
- Ensure timekeeping and paperwork requirements are met.
- Complete daily defect, production and compliance records.
- Ensure house-keeping standards are met.
Qualifications / Experience Required: Driving a Wheel Loading Shovel: 1 year (preferred)
Language: English (required)
Licence/Certification: Driving Licence (required)
